Hello! I'm Ana María Baquero, an Internal Medicine Specialist.

I completed my general medicine studies at the University of Costa Rica and there I also completed my postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine. Additionally, I recently completed a master's degree in Clinical Nutrition and Food-Drug Interaction at the University of Barcelona.

I love my area of specialization because it allows me to see my patients in a comprehensive way, providing them with support from disease prevention and managing their care so that treatments for their different conditions are harmonious. With the advantage of having many areas of action, as we can work in hospitalization, outpatient care, chronic disease management, as well as research.

I consider that for successful management of any patient, interdisciplinary care is essential and therapeutic decisions must be strengthened with a highly qualified team.

I work as an Internist at San Juan de Dios Hospital in the Costa Rican Social Security System, and I am also a professor of undergraduate studies in the Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Latin University of Costa Rica and a professor of the Internal Medicine postgraduate program at the University of Costa Rica.
